Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)
In 2007, BREDD, Inc. Published the first Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the Economic Development District that includes Mineral, Missoula and Ravalli Counties. The process included extensive public participation from Mineral, Missoula, Ravalli Counties. Two main committees, the Working Groups and the Strategy Committee, were assembled to maximize the reach and scope of regional input. There were five working groups representing the economic sectors Land Use, Business Development, Redevelopment, Infrastructure, and Workforce and Education. Each of these working groups sought out the regions strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and provided the Strategy Committee with recommendations based on their findings. The 31 member Strategy Group had a majority of its membership coming from the private sector but included representatives from government, communities, development organizations and other non-profits.
