Mineral County Airport Plan

In partnership with the Mineral County Board of Commissioners and Airport Board, BREDD will contract with an aviation consultant to conduct an a Needs Assessment and Business Plan for the Mineral County Airport. The Master Plan will provide stakeholders with necessary information to answer questions and make decisions related to economic development on and around airport property. Increased economic development will ideally lead to positive economic impacts, including job creation, for the region.

The Mineral County Airport is owned and operated by Mineral County. It is located just east of Superior, MT. The airport is adjacent to Interstate 90, a major shipping route, near excellent recreational opportunities. The airport is next to the Clarkfork River, bordered on the north by timbered foothills. It is 60 miles west of Missoula, MT. The 70-acre airport’s primary runway measures 3,500 feet in length and 75 feet in width. The airport experiences approximately 4,000 aircraft operations annually.

An Airport Master Plan is needed to further Mineral County’s long term development goals as a community, both at the airport and on the adjacent County-owned land.
