Governor Brian Schwietzer and executives from Green Investment Group Inc (GIGI) announced May 4 that the defunct Smurfit-Stone paper mill in Frenchtown was bought by GIGI in late April. The GIGI team is evaluating the site for required environmental clean up and determining its development potential. They hope to redevelop the site for smaller, green businesses focused on recycling and alternative energy. GIGI’s affilate, M2GREEN Redevelopment LLC is accepting resumes for its Missoula operation.
