The Seeley Lake Community Council has been looking for ways to provide economic stability to their rural community. So much so that they have formed a Economic Development subcommittee to theirCommunity Council (www.seeleylakecommunitycouncil.com ) From this committee stemmed the idea of a Nordic Events and Training Facility. Partnering with BREDD and MAEDC the group has applied for funds to perform a feasibility study. They were recently notified from the Department of Commerce that they recieved a $15,000 in Big Sky Trust Fund grant to perform the study. The grant requires that the community come up with another $10,000.00.
The Seeley Lake Community Foundation has stepped up to help the community meet that goal. They issued a matching challenge, for each dollar that the community raises they will donate a dollar. If you are willing to donate please contact the Seeley Lake Community Foundation.
